Will you be my Valentine?

I was asking Weston if he was going to the next high school dance and he simply replied, 'If I get asked, it is a girl's choice dance.'  I knew it was probably coming up real soon and within the next couple of days he was asked by Brooke Nielson.  He was so eXciTeD!

He wrote a rap (with some help) and gathered some friends and together they choreographed and produced a music video to answer her back with a YES!
photo.php   I believe if you click on this link you can view the video.  Colton did a great job of putting all the scenes together.  LOVE it.

The night of the dance they both looked Amazing.  Brooke looked stunning in pink and Weston rocked the hot pink tie and suspenders.

For Valentine's I  wanted to let the boys know just how much I love them and I love how unique they are yet they are all MY GUYS.   Each day in February leading up to Valentines day I added a new "love note" to their bedroom doors.  It was fun to listen to them talk about them and compare notes.  All three of them watched for a new one to appear daily.  On Valentine's Day I added the last of the notes with a drink and candy.  Not much but I sure hope my boys know how much I love them.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The night before the big day of LOVE; Tom arrived home from work with a bouquet of daisies, a beautiful card and a Diet Pepsi (yes he knows the way to my heart).  I was completely shocked.  We have been watching our pennies so close and for him to save a few to spend on me was so special.  I am one lucky gal.

concussion, torn meniscus and a talk O' MY!

I have been struggling a bit with trying to find myself.  I just feel like I got lost somewhere and nothing will help you find your way home faster than a child that needs their mommy.  So let me see if I can catch you all up.
Sunday, January 17th while sitting in sacrament trying to keep myself together (a beautiful solo of my favorite hymn, 'I Stand All Amazed' had just been sung) when Tom and I almost in a stereo whisper said, "the boys need helmets to wear tomorrow snowboarding"  It was the most powerful sensation we have experienced in quite sometime.  So afte my visiting teachers stopped by we (not the greatest example in the next sentence) headed to Big 5.  We purchased the helmets and headed for home.  The boys headed up to Powder Mountain Monday morning (day off school) and when they returned home we were informed that Weston had taken a nasty fall and literally knocked himself unconscience.  SCARY.  His head was throbbing.  For the next two days he literally lived on the couch.  The room couldn't get dark enough and we couldn't walk soft enough.  When we took him for a concussion test the trainer told us that he believes if Weston had not had a helmet on he would have been in the hospital.  Hearing those words makes a mom think, "OK Woman pull your shizz together  ~ your family needs you"  Weston has yet to be cleared for lots of physical activity but with baby steps he should be back in full in no time.

We have also been having Garett seen by the school trainer for a partially torn meniscus.  CRAZY.  He was so excited that he made the Junior High basketaball team and he has not been able to play one game.  His knee is Finally starting to feel better.  We are taking him to the gym to ride a bike with no resistance.  I am confident that Garett will be able to resume his comp basketball play with the beginning of the new session.

Weston was asked to speak at our Stake Conference on Sunday, January 27th.  His topic "How scouting and my Aaronic Priesthood has helped me stand in Holy places"  He was nervous of course and it literally caused major friction in our house (until the concussion)  He felt a bit betrayed because I knew he was going to be asked and I didn't give him aheads up.  In my defense I was asked to not say anything so that the stake presidency could approach him.  When Sunday finally rolled around his talk was ready and so was he.  He delivered an awesome talk.  He didn't stutter, he didn't use UMMM he just simply talked.  It was such a proud moment for this momma.

We all posed for a few pre-conference photos.
Weston will begin his missionary paperwork here in the next couple of days….YEP I am freaking out.
There is a quick update on our little family.  We are doing well and I am trying to remember every day why I get up, why I go to work, why the Lord blessed me with such an amazing family.  I am so lucky.
