First Jr High Match

Colton is wrestling on the Jr High team and is enjoying it. On the days of the meets the wrestlers are expected to best dress, which this mom loves. I love seeing my boys leave the house in dress clothes ~ I think my boys are some of the most handsome boys on the earth. ~ I will get back to the wrestling.
The first meet of the season was up north at Box Elder high school. Colton lost both matches but the confidence that he took with him as he approached the mat amazed me. I felt my chest swell with pride as I saw him look his opponent in the eye. He continues to amaze me. His dedication to the sport, to his team and to maintaining a healthy lifestyle is top notch. He hasn't had dessert, soda or sweets since training started. Go Colton! The season will finish the end of January. I will post more pictures later.

Boys will be Boys

Logan and Weston both filled their swan tags this year. This was Logan's first and Weston's third swan. Weston tells me that it never gets old and I guess by the smile he is not lying.

Halloween

Halloween came and went this year so quickly. I was sick for most of the week leading up to the big day. Garett's costume was quick and easy (wait for the picture). The boys carved the pumpkins and Corben and Jaycee rounded out the day. Until next year.

Red Ribbon Week ~ Drug Free

During Red Ribbon Week at the school they have lots of activity including allowing the kids to dress wild and crazy. On one day at the Jr High it was Best Dress and at the elementary it was PJ Day. They all enjoy participating in the many activities and that makes me so excited. I tell them all the time that school can be fun if you get involved. Here are a few shots I snapped before they headed to school that morning.

Youth Hunt 2009

Duck hunting is a sport that is beyond me. Getting up at 3:00 AM to go lay in the marsh until shooting is just something I cannot wrap my head around but my boys, all of them LOVE it. I will not be able to put into words the excitement that takes place out in the blind so please just enjoy the photos.

Worth the Wait

I was balancing the check book back in April and noticed that the DWR had taken money out to I called Tom to tell him. I told him that Weston had drawn an elk tag down in Emma Park and he was holding his breath to see if he drew his Buck tag for down there. When I broke the news he was excited to say the least. You would have thought I just gave him the moon. So we as a family had to listen to him for the next 7 or so months until the day he was to leave on his hunt. He was just like a kid on Christmas Eve . . .every day for 7 months ~ NO I am not exaggerating. The boys were just as excited as he was because Weston was able to hunt his cow elk during the same time. The boys loaded up and headed out on their week hunt. I was geared up to spend some quality alone time and squeeze in a shopping day or two. Within two hours of making camp Weston had his elk tagged. WOW! Congrats Weston. Now to keep Tom from pulling the triggers and waiting for the "one". After two days Tom just couldn't wait so with the help of many eyes and ears, Tom was able to tag his buck. He was super excited. Congrats to the Leatherow clan for a successful season and my freezer is full.

Memories on the Mountain

Chad surprised Weston with an opportuity that is every young hunter's dream. Weston and Chad were able to hunt on some private property up by Echo Reservior. It was a success and a weekend that will not be forgotten. Thanks Chad for making it super special!
