Beard Family Reunion & Happy Birthday Ryker

The annual reunion was held at Glendale the first Saturday in August. The weather was perfect and for the games this year were Minute to Win It. Garett, Kegan and Shon all gave it a their best.

After the reunion we headed out to celebrate Ryker's first birthday.

It was so fun to watch Ryker tear into his own little cake. Happy Birthday Ryker Roo ~ We love YOU
After a day like this one we were all ready to hit the hay.

Graduation HCOP Summer 2011

For the summer of 2011 Weston attended a program at WSU for students who are interested in a career in the medical profession. He attended classes Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The program started the end of June and graduation was August 7th. So yep, most of his summer was spent in a classroom. We are so proud of him for being selected and for wanting to do this, of course, being paid was a huge deciding factor and I am sure it helped that Kenz was also in the program.
Check out the purple dress shirt ...on purpose for WSU?

WOW! Now that is what I call a summer rain storm

The clouds began to turn gray, the wind began to blow and within seconds the sky opened up and dumped water. I stepped out onto the front porch to capture a few photos. The rain drops were huge and the amount of rain that fell in those 30 minutes was just unbelievable.

Help Haydon Heal ~ 5K

For the past 6 months we as a family have been trying to live a healthier lifestyle. We joined Planet Fitness, we are getting out and hiking more and we are of course trying to eat healthy. (don't worry the Leatherows still LOVE their ice cream).
My friend from high school's little boy needs a liver transplant and for the second year they held a benefit 5k run/walk. We decided as a family we would participate. For those of you that know me I am not runner nor do I have a runner's body but I really wanted to accomplish this and what a great time to do it and help raise some much needed money for Haydon. We arrived at the park around 7:00 AM and began the race at 8:00 AM. The course was thru Farr West and up into the fairgrounds and back to the park. I am not sure of everyone's finishing times and I am not sure that matters ~ what matters is we finished. And it felt AMAZING. Thank you Dale, Eileen and Kegan for joining us in the fun. We will for sure do it again next year and maybe just maybe we will beat our times.

2011 Smuin Summer Splash

Once again we all gathered at the park in Roy to celebrate the summer. Like last year Chad reserved the park and rented several amazing waterslides for the kids and adults. We also played a game of kickball ~ adults vs youngsters. We ate, we laughed, we got wet and we just relaxed. It was an amazing afternoon. Thank you Smuin family for the invite and I am sure next year's will just as fun.

Creating memories ~

While his older brothers were away Garett got to spend some quality time with his dad. Garett, like his dad, loves to fish. So they woke up early one morning and headed up to Causey Reservoir.

Come on dad look at the camera.
On their way home they stopped at the Home Depot to get some needed supplies for the "honey do" list and the Home Depot car was visiting so Garett decided to pose for a photo opp.

I am so blessed to be married to a husband that has been hands on from the time the boys were born. He is the best dad ever. He is always making sure that the boys are having fun and teaching them all the while about life and lessons that his dad taught him. I can't wait to meet my father-in-law and shake his hand and tell him thank you for raising a wonderful young man in the short amount of time that he was given. I am truly the luckiest gal to be married to Tom Leatherow. and the boys are lucky to call him Dad.

Early Morning Nature Ride

After we arrived back from our wonderful camp trip we decided to get up early one morning and take a ride up in Mantua. The wildflowers were in full bloom and vivid in color (the pictures do not due it justice) I want to add in a disclaimer real quick -- all the photos you are about to view were taken while I was on the back of the 4 wheeler. :)

With all the snow and wet spring the roads were really washed out in places...in fact at one point the passengers got off the bikes so the drivers could manuver the wash. Tom and Weston did it and made it look so easy.

Along the trail we found a HUGE mud hole. I believe this hole was probably 18 to 24 inches deep in places. Mud + boys = temptation too great.

Weston didn't get a chance to play in the mud this time but I am sure in future he will find his way in.

This is the view that I enjoyed riding behind my best friend.

and no ride would be complete without the a little wildlife ~ unfortunately we didn't find the four legged kind but we did find this lone duck.

and that is our ride in a nut shell ~ Colton was not able to go with us as he was at camp. Will catch him on the next ride.
I sure love my guys.
Love,
Me.
