Final U14 CO-ED of the Fall Season

Colton and Logan played AYSO this season and Dale was nice enough to coach them. The team struggled but had a great time. Thanks Dale for taking the time to coach.

Final regular season Game ~ Under th lights! Go SCOTS

For the final game of the regular season the boys got to play under the lights at the high school. Garett was pumped up! The weather that night was down right nippy. Great football weather. The team was ready to rumble, the coaches ready to coach a fantastic team and the fans were yelling loud.
Go Scots, Beat Kaysville.

HHHHUUUUUDDDLLLLLLE!

Garett signaling for his team to "Huddle Up"

Come on boys, follow me! Garett the leader of the pack.

Garett is getting some great instruction from Coach Roman. (OK maybe a bit of a yellin' at. Garett and Craig had some snap issues.) Garett really looks up to his coaches and takes the constructive critism well. I am so proud of the player he has become. He continues to fight, hit hard and play to the end. Congrats Garett on a well played season.

Almost there boys . . . D Fense! D Fense!

Check out the score board ~ with timing running out. We just need to hold them and we could go into overtime. Luck was not on our side and the other team scored the extra point and Scots go home with a Loss.
Heads up boys ~ we will meet this team in OctoberFest.

Scots came out ready to play and taught Kaysville how to win their first game of Octoberfest. Congrats to the Scots and their coaches. They had a great season and are already looking forward to next year.

Final Game of the Fall 2009 Season

Chino has a quick pep talk with the boys before the whistle. He tells them we need this win or we will dro from 1st to 4th. They need to play hard, play with passion and play to win! GREMIO!

You just know he is thinking, "come on get the ball in the net"

The game never stops. This teams plays hard from start to finish.

Casey Taylor

Weston and Hector making sure the ball stays out of the net.

Co-Captian, Vic taking a free kick.

Find the net, boys! We need to score!

Our team got down by a few goals but they came out hard the second half and played the majority of the game deep by their goal. Never give up and continue to take those shots, the ball will eventually find the back of the net.

Man, we should of had the game!

After the final blow of the whistle Gremio had to take the tie. Gremio now just needed to wait until all the other team scores had been posted. There was still hope . . . a team loss here, a team loss there - and just maybe Gremio could hold onto the number 1 spot!
*************GREMIO TOOK FIRST**************
Congrats to Chino, to the team, and to our Weston for playing their hearts out and never giving up!

Early Morning Chaos Control AKA Refereeing AYSO U10 Boys

The boys still give up their Saturday mornings to help out and referee a game or two for AYSO. I have been very lucky during my run as the region commissioner and not only have my boys stepped up but so have my nephews as well as many friends. Our region is very lucky to have youth that will give up a Saturday especially in the bitter cold. Here are a few snap snots of one such game. Colton was the center and Cole Anderson and Conner Brenkman were is linesman.

Have your cake and eat it too

I have been asked to be on the Enrichment Night committee and our first Enrichment Night was a couple of weeks ago, our theme D.O.T.S (Dishing out the Service). All the decorations were "dots". So my assignment was to bring a double layered circle cake. I nodded and said no problem I will make mine pink. The whole way home I am thinking are your kidding you have never make a double layer cake and you don't even own a round cake pan. Breathe Shar everything will be fine you have a couple of weeks to figure this one out. I purchased two round cake pans, the cake mix and the frosting. Easy! Now what in the world do you put in the center? Thank goodness for the internet. I found a very simple (3 ingredient recipe). I was very excited that it turned out and even enjoyed the whole process. In fact, I am considering making another one . . .

Gremio plays hard, digs deep and brings home the win over Labor Day

Gremio ~ 1st place
Gremio went undeafeted this tournament, outscoring their opponents 18 to 2! The boys worked hard and NEVER gave up! Congrats to Chino and to Gremio!

Weston proudly wears the number 20 when he takes the field in his Gremio uniform. I have to let you in on a secret . . Weston takes the game very serious. OK maybe that is not a secret but let me tell you the ritual that takes place before the games. We get in the car, in go the ear phones, up goes the volume on the ipod, not a word the way there, seriously NOT a word, once we take the exit he removes his shoes, puts on his shin guards and laces up the cleats. Stil in silence. Once we reach the field the ipod goes into his bag and he heads to the field. He will be the loudest on the field on any given day. He will continue to remind his team that the game is NOT over and that they are great. After the game we head to the car and he will remove his shin guards and cleats and we can have a pleasant ride home . . he will even engage in conversation. I love him and enjoy the times when it is just me and him ~
I will apologize for the lack of picturs. I get so caught up in the game that I usually forget the camera is sitting next to me.

Getting a Bird's Eye view of the Action

Garett decided to have some fun during the game. He climbed the tree right behind me and took in the game . . with probably the best seat on the field.

The Coach

Snapped a quick photo of the coach . . . Weston has really enjoyed playing ball for Chino and has learned A LOT.

Jaycee ~ look how big I am getting

Tess walked Jaycee over this afternoon to show off her dress and headband. I just couldn't help myself ~ I had to snap a few shots of her. She smiles UNTIL I get out the camera!

Weber County Fair 2009

Once again Colton's produce produced. He brought home 1 blue and 2 red ribbons! We are very proud of him. We have eaten corn on the cob, tomotoes, peppers, onions, radishes, and plenty of squash! His pumpkins are HUGE! I will post pictures of those shortly!

Boys will be Boys

If you asked the boys the best part about staying at Glendale is playing at the pond on the homemade rafts. Logan's new puppy, Titan, also got in on the fun.

The Shon-ster!

Shon hasn't been to Glendale very often due to the elevation level. He came up this trip and LOVED every second of it! I love seeing him in a place that makes him happy and boy was he happy. He blesses our family and makes us step back and remember what is really important . . . LIFE, FAMILY and being HAPPY!

More Glendale

The boys tried their luck on the Weber River . . . I believe the only fish to be caught was Garett's. Eileen and I just sat and dangled our feet in the water to cool off and enjoyed the view. The boys had a riot. I love to watch Tom with his boys - it makes me love him that much more. And my boys are getting so grown up!

Glendale 2009

The one place that we as a family don't visit very often but we all love is the Thomas Family cabin, Glendale! This year we decided to make it a point to visit so we chose a weekend that was open and hit the road. Actually, we arrived after a soccer game in Park City and Dale & Eileen and their family were already there and got the cabin aired out and somewhat cooled down. The weather was terrific! The food was amazing (we tried a new tortilla soup recipe and Dale made us some amazing breakfast burritos) and the company was never dull. Josh and Jenn and of course little Liam came up on Saturday morning. On Friday we headed to Smith and Morehouse for a short hike.

Cub Scouts visit the Nature Center

As part of the Summer Time Conservation Award that our troop was working towards we visited the Nature Center in Ogden. I had never been there before. Tom just couldn't believe that. We did some crafts and walked out to the HUGE tree house. It was amazing. We saw some deer and met MANY mosquitos! Thank goodness many moms came prepared with the bug spray. I really enjoyed hanging out with 3 of my guys!
