Due the the lack of green in our wallets and all the camp spots being soggy, the trails being snowed in, we stayed at home to celebrate Memorial Day. I took Friday off work and we got up and headed out the door to hike Jumpoff Canyon.
The day was PERFECT for hiking, overcast and even a slight breeze was blowing. We simply walked from our house to the trail head.
Walking along the canal to the trailhead.
As we walked it was nice to just listen to the boys chat. The conversation seems to always take a turn to hunting and planning. I just listen most of the time. I truly love that all my boys have that passion and they are all excited for each other. The smiles they wear as they talk about camp, about the plans and about whether or not they can miss that much school really makes my heart happy.
Once we turned on to the trailhead we were mostly hiking in single file. I usually bring up the rear so that I can take pictures and ....OK I will be honest to look at Tom's backside. No really it is because I am the slowest. :)
Words cannot begin to express the love I have for these four men. They are truly my life. They are all my heros.
Garett is always willing to pose for a photo. He is growing up so fast and becoming a great young man. He is a total goof ball, he wants everyone to think he is tough but he truly has a huge heart and is so caring.
Colton is a beast. After just returning from his Havasupai trip he is in amazing shape. He is always talking and usually loudly. Once he is up he is nice to be around but is definately is NOT a morning person. O' my he is grouchy luckily for us we left on the hike this morning after he was able to wake up and shake off the grouch. Love you Colton.
I didn't capture too many photos of Weston ~ he was too far ahead most of the time. If he is being honest he wasn't too excited about this hike. But he knew if he asked to stay home he would have been in trouble. But I think once he got moving and talking and rock climbing he had a good time.
A few photos of my best friend, my soul mate, my eternal companion.
Some photos of the beautiful sights to see right in our back yard. It really does amaze me what a beautiful place we live in. There is so much to see so close to home ~ sometimes I think we just forget.
