State Track @ BYU ~ May 2012

Trying to catch up a bit..... In May ~ we traveled to Provo to cheer on the BLHS track team at the State Championships down in Provo. Like in the years past it was hosted by BYU. This year the weather was WARM. (last year we were wet and COLD) Tom, Colton, Garett and I drove down Friday evening checked into our hotel and found a place to grab a bite to eat. Note to self and a warning to others the Panda Express in Provo was horrible. Later that evening Weston found his way to our room and let the fun begin.
We tried to swim that evening however the pool was not looking desirable and the hot tub was already full with kids from other high schools so we just hung out and watched TV. On Saturday Tom, Weston and Garett headed down to the hotel gym for a quick workout. I pedaled a bike for about 15 minutes but then headed back to the room to get ready for the day.
Once those 3 were back from the mini gym, showered and ready for the day we headed over to BYU. Weston was running in the 4 X 400 and it was the absolutely the LAST event of the Saturday. WOW! But don't fear we had fun cheering on the other events and we especially liked watching the boys long jump. Tom kept saying it is amazing how those group of boys could make the event so fun to watch. So fun! In some other events, we cheered on friends like Mason Schlange from Weber, Jake Garvin from Syracause and Malik Doss from Ogden. We of course cheered loud and proud for anyone wearing BLHS colors. When Weston's event was finally called I waited and waited and waited some more for them to walk out to the track. My heart was racing and my stomach did flip flops. I was so anxious. His relay team didn't do half bad we were super proud of them, they didn't place but Weston had a great time of 52 seconds!
Congratulations to all the athletes on a great 2012 season! 'til next year.
