My blessings are beyond description. I married the love of my life on a beautiful summer day and we have been blessed with three healthy, handsome, active, intelligent boys. My guys are my life and they all keep me laughing and are my constant reminder of what is important . . . FaMiLy.

April 2015

I simply cannot believe how fast a month can come and go.  I often feel like I have blinked and the month is gone.  April was a busy month for our little family.  I am going to try to do a recap and hopefully I don't forget something.
April 1st ~
We kicked off the month with a birthday! ~ MINE!  Yep, I am now 41 years young!  I am truly blessed.
 From my guys

 From Deb
Colton brought my home my Favorite pizza ~ Blake Shelton
Pam and Stacy took me to dinner as well as showered my with gifts.
Celeste at work decorated my little corner of the 2nd floor.  She also gave me a cute polka dot top with matching handmade earrings.  Tanya gave me a new cute glass and of course hot tamales.
My favorite gift this year was the fact that Tom refinished this cute table for me.  My friend found it for me and I love it.  So Tom put in the work to make it look beautiful.

Once again my guys and friends made sure my day was fantastic.    I am truly blessed to always be surrounded by such amazing peeps.

April 3rd ~ Miss Mia had a visit with the vet.   She was not happy with us.  She didn't like her cone of shame and she was continually chewing off her bandage on her foot.  She was truly a stinker.

She is all better and back to her puppy self and is bouncing off the walls.

April 4th ~ we traveled to South Jordan to visit Dark Canyon Archery.  and G purchased his first bow. It was a riot to watch him learn about the bow.  He was soaking up the information but you could see he was anxious and just wanted to shoot the darn thing.  Well his wait was finally over.

April 5th ~
This year Easter and April conference fell on the same weekend.   I loved it!  We woke up Easter morning and enjoyed an Easter egg hunt.  The boys ran around the house like wild men looking for the many eggs, 42 to be exact.  The Easter Bunny had a total of $70 in those eggs.  It was a riot to watch and I will make certain that the egg hunt becomes a tradition from this year forward.  We of course enjoyed scones for the AM session.  Chips and salsa in between the sessions.  Love conference weekend.

April 8th ~
Garett, Tom and I traveled to Sandy with Deb and Parker Winterbottom to watch the inaugural game for the REAL Monarches.  The weather was cold and WET.  Yep, it rained and rained hard most of the game.  But hey like Garett says, "this is what makes memories, mom"  So true.  It was a great night.
G didn't want to pose with us for the pic
April 10th ~
Colton was able to get his senior pictures taken by Ali of Clearly Seen Photography.  I can't say enough about the talent of this friend of mine.  I trust her to capture all my boys.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Ali also created his graduation announcement
How about a flash back real quick to 1992?

April 17th ~
Dear Elder Leatherow:
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  You are assigned to labor in the Australia Perth Mission.  You should report to the Provo MTC on Wednesday, August 12, 2015.
Congratulations C ~ you will make a fabulous missionary.   Many friends and family gathered to listen as C read his call.  Thank you for the support

Australia ~ that is a long way from home.  According to Darbie it is like 9500+ miles from Ogden, UT.  I can do this again, I think I can, I think I can.

April 23rd ~ we loaded up the blazer and headed to Bear Lake!  It was just the three of us for one night and Colton along with his friends Brysen and Zack followed up on Friday evening.  The weekend was wet and cold but we still had a blast.  The boys enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed the jacuzzi tub in our condo.  Love our traditional Bear Lake getaway.
Bear Lake or Bust
Friday we drove completely around the lake

and relaxed and watched G play games

Saturday we took a drive up Bloomington Canyon
Random stop to shoot the bow and I snapped a photo of a cool orange rock ~ yep I am cool like that
Colton also ate some green plant insisting it was water crest ~ he didn't get sick so who knows
Quick pose before we head for home
I truly LOVE this mini vacation tradition of ours.  In years past we vacation over Easter but with Easter and Conference being one and the same weekend I wanted to still enjoy the conference traditions and I wanted to make sure the spirit of conference was in our home.
When we arrived home; Colton did something that I have been asking him to do for many months.  He finally took down his empty fish tank.

April 27th ~
We attended the Scots Scholar Awards.  Getting us there was a fight to say the least.  Colton was not excited to go and he was really not excited to miss work and make some $$.  But I tried to explain to him that as his family we WANT to celebrate HIS success.  It is important to cherish these times.  I am so proud of him and all his hard work during his high school career.  He will walk across the stage as a senior class officer and with a GPA of 3.89.  AMAZING!  He is a wonderful example to his younger brother.  Love you Bug!

April 29th ~
Colton and I visited the post office to complete his passport application and mail it off.  Yep, he did in fact accept his call to serve our Father in Heaven in the wonderful land of Australia.  I love saying that.
Also, later that afternoon I attended Garett's last track meet.  He again threw the shot put for a PR and he continues to progress at discuss.  His dad and I are so proud of his determination to be the best he can.  As of right now he says he is not doing track ~ we will see.
And that my friends is the month of April in a nut shell.  We will now move into May and boy will that month be BUSY!  Mother's Day Skype, seminary graduation, high school graduation and a few birthdays in the mix.
Each day I thank my Father in Heaven for my guys ~ they are my life.

Your family is growing-up so fast. Congrats to C on all his success. Australia! That's so great. Doug served in Brisbane and loved it. Great to see how well your family is doing. Enjoy it all.
