Gremio brings the GOLD back to Ogden

Here's a question for you . . . How can you tell Summer Vacation has begun? Give up? The Leatherows head to Cedar City for Summer Games, duh! This was the fifth year that we headed down south to watch some outstanding soccer games. Weston left on Wednesday morning with the Heil's and the rest of the family followed them down Thursday night. Kaelton played with Gremio for this tournament. He was such a great addition for the games. Gremio played their first game on Thursday morning and got an easy win of 6 to 0. Later that afternoon they played game number 2 and this time were dealt a loss 2 to 0. Friday afternoon Gremio played a spectaular game and came away with the win 3 to 1. This win secured them a spot in the finals Saturday morning. The boys were up for the challenge and came to the field ready to prove to the soccer community that GREMIO was a name that needed to be remembered. The game was intense. Gremio came out and got on top and went into half time up 2 to 0. The other team was not going away quietly and quickly scored after the blow of the whistle to start the second half. The sidelines were on needles and the tension was huge. The other team scored to tie it up . . . wait the ref called the goal back due to a foul. Gremio is still up 2 to 1. The minutes seem to tick away extrememly slow; finally the blow of the whistle and GREMIO has won the gold.
To see the look on the faces of those boys was priceless.
I am hoping this will give the boys the confidence they seem to have lost at the end of the last season. The team is full of talent and the coach is great.
Truly, if you can sneak away to watch a game it will be worth your time.
Congrats Weston ~ I love you!, Mom.
