I was balancing the check book back in April and noticed that the DWR had taken money out to I called Tom to tell him. I told him that Weston had drawn an elk tag down in Emma Park and he was holding his breath to see if he drew his Buck tag for down there. When I broke the news he was excited to say the least. You would have thought I just gave him the moon. So we as a family had to listen to him for the next 7 or so months until the day he was to leave on his hunt. He was just like a kid on Christmas Eve . . .every day for 7 months ~ NO I am not exaggerating. The boys were just as excited as he was because Weston was able to hunt his cow elk during the same time. The boys loaded up and headed out on their week hunt. I was geared up to spend some quality alone time and squeeze in a shopping day or two. Within two hours of making camp Weston had his elk tagged. WOW! Congrats Weston. Now to keep Tom from pulling the triggers and waiting for the "one". After two days Tom just couldn't wait so with the help of many eyes and ears, Tom was able to tag his buck. He was super excited. Congrats to the Leatherow clan for a successful season and my freezer is full.
