Rain, Rain go AWAY

The spring of 2011 has broken records for the amount of rain fall. It has been cooler than previous years as well. I am NOT complaining about the cooler temps ~ It has been terrific but the rain did a number on our little humble abode her on 3rd St. Over Memorial Day weekend we woke up to a puddle of water on our kitchen floor ....why? Take a look at the nice hole in our ceiling



Luckily, if you can call us lucky, we were not able to go out of town for the long weekend due to flooding in the campgrounds and too much snow left in the hills.
We called our homeowners insurance and are now playing the waiting game to get it fixed. In the meantime, Tom, Dale, the boys, Josh, and lots of neighbors ripped off our old roof and gave our home a much needed new one. We got rid of the nice green/gray shingles and went with a wonderful brown. It really amazes me the way a roof changes the look of a home.
