I LOVE my Guys!
I decided to look around for a quick photo opp....I grabbed G away from the map reading and asked to
'strike a pose' against a little general store near where we pulled off. Note to self...if you need ice make sure you get it back in town ~ yep, it cost the other Leatherows $4 for one bag of ice. OUCH.
After the boys studied the map they decided we were almost to the pull off. Man were they right I think we drove another 2 minutes. :) We unloaded all the bikes, added the helmets, and made certain the soda was packed on ice and away we go......WAIT! This is a Leatherow vacation we don't get away that easy. Yep, before we left the parking area one of the bikes was having brake issues.
So we had to fix that.
Problem solved with a quick trip down the road to the store for some brake fluid and now we are on our way.
Day 4
Hands in.....LiveStrong T-Bone!
Now let the riding begin. I won't take too much time explaining the photos as they will speak for themselves.
We only have one minor ....umm I don't think you would call it a crash.....I guess we will just call it laying the bike down...
Don't worry Logan took it like a man. Tom and I were so impressed at how well he was doing as this was his first time on the Big Wheel.
The riding season was still about a week out for the locals so we had the mountains to ourselves. It was fabulous. There was lots of water from snowmelt still and believe me we found it all. Logan also found out the four wheelers navigate the mud so much easier but hey what guy doesn't like to get dirty?
Logan: Note to self ~ don't push the bike from behind.
The C-Rows
This is what life is all about. FaMiLy!
Day 4
A favorite past time in Steamboat Springs it to float the river. You can literally float the river and then catch the local shuttle back to the top of the river. The boys were excited give it a go. Dale brought his small raft and we purchased some tubes at the local sporting goods store.
The river was super low and super lazy. It took the boys about 2 1/2 hours to make it down to the pick up spot. The rest of us enjoyed some down time and just hanging out and chatting.
I really don't know why I look like I am pouting...mid word? I just hate that I ruined a great photo opp with my Wesman.
Fell in love with this little guy on vacation. And by the end he liked me too. SUCCESS!
After we hadn't heard or seen the floaters for what seemed like forever for this mom we finally heard them long before we seen them, thanks to my two.
Oops! Sorry, Mr. Fishman
Next up the only "rapids" on the journey....
Wait that was too much fun not to do it again. So we take the boys back to the top and this time Weston and Amber decide to join in on the fun.
After dropping the crew off ~ the moms and dads and Bryson head to McDonalds for a quick treat. It was nice to visit to get out of the sun while waiting for the kids. After we finished our ice cream we head back over to the pick up spot. They all made the trip safe and sound.
Here they come....
Here they come....
And those three survived the rapids.
Now let's see the others...
Everyone survived!
Later that evening after we were all settled down for the evening Colton showed us all what happens when our skin is exposed to the sun for long periods of time without wearing sunscreen. OUCH
This is his remedy for the pain...ice!
And that my friends is the end of Day 3 and 4 of our summer vacation. Vacations is what we all live for. I am hoping that my boys are enjoying making the memories with me as I am with them. I count my blessing everyday that I am always surrounded by such fine young men and one man that makes me feel so special. I love my GUYS!
